Hall of Mirrors

from Dark City Streets (EP) by End of Arden

lyrics

One sunny summer Sunday at a local city park,
I walked on through a doorway to a place that was rather dark.
I felt my way as best I could along the wall,
Desperately trying not to fall.

Then off into the distance, I saw a shape appear,
And as I walked toward it, I felt a strange fear.
Matching every step I took, in perfect time,
I saw its face and saw that it was mine.

Hall of mirrors, get me out of here!
Hall of mirrors, I want to disappear!

I turned around so much, I put my head into a spin,
I couldn't get my bearings in the room that I was in.
All around I saw myself, a hundred clones,
All the time, I was alone.

I tripped upon my shoelace, went crashing through the wall,
I found myself outside again, reeling from my fall.
Maybe I'll go back one day to the hall of mirrors,
It's the only way to face my fears.

Hall of mirrors, what am I doing here?
Hall of mirrors, help me disappear!
